Game narrative is a story that reveals itself to the player through the gameplay. Game does not explain all the story to player in words or beforehand, as it is not the book. The story is rather build in the game environment, characters, actions and reveals through player interactions with the gameworld. Good story intertwined with the game elements makes the game engaging.
When starting designing the game it is important to keep game story idea in mind, however, it is good to begin with the basic gameplay interactions and core game elements.
