Educational Potential
In Game Dev Tycoon you replay the history of the gaming industry by starting your own video game development company in the 80s. Create best selling games. Research new technologies and invent new game types. Become the leader of the market and gain worldwide fans.

This videogame can assist children in setting goals, ensuring goal rehearsal, providing feedback, reinforcement and maintaining records of behavioural change. According to the fact that this video game is intended to teach players to create, develop and sell their own video games on the market, it improves their perception of business development in entertainment industry and how to manage it successfully. Thus, this may stimulate their learning because this video game allows participants to experience novelty, curiosity and challenge. Also, in order to create a great video game, children must be equipped with state-of-the art technology (considering the contribution of expressive elements such as graphics, storytelling and music).
