Educational Potential
This is a game of the LegaKids foundation which tries to foster the reading and writing accuracy of children.

By entering the url children can see a picture of an mysterious villa. By clicking on the picture they can discover hidden games. The games have the focus on reading comprehension, spelling and reading technique. Even tipps for better learning are inlcuded in one of the games.

It is a nicely designed game with many effects and animations. Each game has an introductive video and an explanation. By playing the different games the player can see if her/his answers are correct. The player can even choose different levels of difficulty. After each successfully played game the player gets positiv feedback within a further video.

Disadvantages are that the game needs some time for loading – even if one has finished a game and wants to go back to the villa the game needs loading. Further more there is no checklist or visual indicator which game the player has already played. Therefore it is possible that he/she opens the same game oncemore and has to play it as there is no possbility to quit the game before it is over. The player cannot skip some of the videos.
Learning Object / Suggested activities with students
We would advise to let children play this game in school during waiting times or during times before holiday. There should be a short instruction of the teacher that they can go trough the picture and try to find some games to play. The students could do this in groups of two.

The students should have fun by playing this game within their own speed.

This game gave very good emotions for children. Every push on the object and appearance of movements and illustrations made children to laugh. Children learn new words like well, chest. The game was played according 4-5 years old children knowledge and skills - using spontaneous illustrations.

Children comments:
Tomas (5 years): "That was fun! There was needed to bring gold from the well and give to the dragon."
Majus (5 years): "There was needed to find a lot of gold and save it and give it to somebody. I liked the game very much. There were also a ghost and if you push, it runs and hides."
